Day 1 - Kampala
On arrival at Entebbe International Airport we will welcome you and transfer to the hotel in Kampala for overnight in BB, at Protea Hotel or similar (C) or budget hotel (E). BB

Day 2 – Kampala - Kisoro
After breakfast, early morning you leave Kampala in the direction of the South West of the country, to reach Kisoro at the border with Congo DRC. During the long journey, you will traverse the typical papyrus swamps, Mabamba Forest, the savannah areas of the Ankole and the terraced hills of the Kigezi. Stop over for lunch in Mbarara. You will arrive in the evening in Kisoro, in time for dinner and overnight at Travelers Hotel. Enjoy the view of the Muhavura and other Virunga volcanoes which dominate the region.           

Day 3 – Virunga National Park
Early morning departure for the mountain gorilla tracking in Virunga National Park in Congo. After crossing the border and the briefing from the authorities of the park, set off for the trekking in the rain tropical forest searching for the habituated gorilla family. You can remain close to the beautiful primates for over one hour, for observation and photography. Make sure you carry with you packed lunch and water. The park in 2008 was just reopened after long time of insecurity and even the tragic events which have occurred to one of the gorilla families. We shall advise you on the security situation at the time of your booking. After the trekking, proceed to Goma, on the shores of Lake Kivu, for dinner and overnight, Ihusi Hotel or Stella Matutina (C) or Bird – Albacha Hotel (E).

Day 4 – Crossing the Lake Kivu
After breakfast you leave the town of Goma, capital of the North Kivu region and you board the ferry boat that will take through the Lake Kivu to the other side, arriving in Bukavu. Lunch en route. Enjoy the beach in Bukavu. Dinner and overnight at Ibis Hotel (C) or Riviera Hotel (E).

Day 5 – Kahuzi Biega National Park
After early breakfast, you enter Kahuzi-Biega National Park for tracking the Gorilla Gorilla Graueri, best known as the “low land gorilla”. The distance from Bukavu to the gate is about 50 km of dirt road. The park was designated biosphere reserve for humanity under Unesco. The name is after the two extinct volcanoes Kahuzi and Biega. The duration of the trekking is not predictable, therefore you will carry with you the packed lunch, water, rain jacket and be ready with trekking boots.
After the trekking, in the afternoon you return to Bukavu and cross the border with Rwanda to Ciangugu, where you will relax with dinner and overnight at Peace Guest House.

Day 6 - The primates of Nyungwe National Park
After an early breakfast, at 6 am you enter Nyungwe forest for the chimpanzees trekking and other primates like the beautiful Angolan colobus. The park is spread for over 970 sq km of green hills, the largest uncontaminated piece of tropical forest in Eastern Africa. Nyungwe hosts 13 species of primates, including the chimpanzee, the Rwenzori colobus, the Hoest Monkey, the silver monkey, owl faced monkey, red tailed monkey, vervet monkey and olive baboon. Ensure you carry with you packed lunch and water for a picnic lunch. You will have dinner and overnight at Peace Guest House or similar.

Day 7 – Lake Bunyonyi
After breakfast leave Nyungwe and drive to Kigali. Stop over will be at the royal palace in Nyanza, where the “Mwami” or king of Rwanda had his traditional seat. After lunch and some short visit in Kigali, you proceed to the border with Uganda. You will arrive by evening on the shore of Lake Bunyonyi, for dinner and overnight at Arcadia Cottages or similar.

Day 8 - Kampala
After breakfast, return to Kampala by late afternoon. Possible transfer to Entebbe for evening flights. Dinner and overnight in Kampala.
Optional activity: stop over at Lake Mburo National Park for game drive in search for antelope species, impalas, zebras and birds.

Day 9
Reserved for the transfer to Entebbe International Airport.
