Overview

Regular Itinerary

  • Day 1

    Entebbe

    Your arrival at Entebbe International Airport is greeted by our on-site representative. You're then transferred for an overnight stay.

  • Day 2

    Murchison Falls National Park

    We drive northwest towards Masindi and the Murchison Falls conservation area with a stop over for a nature walk and lunch at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary.

  • Day 3

    Murchison Falls National Park

    You have an early morning game drive to the Nile delta on Lake Albert’s northern bank then take a boat excursion along the Nile to the Murchison Falls in the afternoon.

  • Day 4

    Murchison Falls National Park

    You depart for the Nile delta on a shared boat from Wild Frontiers and discover the birdlife and scenic views along the Nile followed by an afternoon game drive.

  • Day 5

    Albertine Rift Valley & Fort Portal

    Today, we make for Fort Portal which happens to be the capital of the Tooro Kingdom and lies in the shadow of the Rwenzori Mountains

  • Day 6

    Kibale National Park – Chimpanzee Trekking & Bigodi

    After breakfast, you go on a nature walk of the Kibale Forest National Park to experience the rainforest, birding and the chimpanzees in their natural habitat.

  • Day 7

    Queen Elizabeth National Park

    After breakfast, you'll transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

  • Day 8

    Queen Elizabeth National Park – Ishasha Sector

    You'll go on another game drive in the north of the park then leave the northern sector of Queen Elizabeth and proceed to the southern sector, Ishasha.

  • Day 9

    Ishasha Sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park

    After a cup of coffee, at 6.30 am go on a game drive along the tracks of the national park.

  • Day 10

    Ishasha – Bwindi National Park

    After breakfast, we leave Queen Elizabeth and head southward for Bwindi.

  • Day 11

    Mountain Gorilla Safari

    Today is reserved for the gorilla safari activity that involves the trekking of habituated families of gorillas.

  • Day 12

    Batwa Trail Echuya Forest – Lake Bunyonyi

    You may optionally enjoy a nature walk in Echuya Forest and encounter the Batwa pigmies and learn their history, traditions and culture.

  • Day 13

    Lake Bunyonyi – Lake Mburo National Park

    After breakfast, transfer to Lake Mburo National Park.

  • Day 14

    Lake Mburo – Entebbe

    Today is reserved for departure from Entebbe International airport.

Day 1

Entebbe

Your arrival at Entebbe International Airport is greeted by our on-site representative and you then get transferred for an overnight stay at your preferred lodging option.

Day 2

Murchison Falls National Park

An early breakfast is followed by a drive northwest towards Masindi and the Murchison Falls conservation area. This is the largest conservation area in Uganda and offers breathtaking scenery of grassland acacia savannah to the north and tropical forests to the south.

We have a stop over for a nature walk and lunch at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. This houses the breeding project which saw the rebirth of the endangered white rhinos in Uganda. You can view them at close quarters while they move freely in the natural habitat.

Thereafter, we proceed to Murchison Falls National Park where you check into your preferred lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3

Murchison Falls National Park

After breakfast, we embark on an early morning game drive to explore the Savannah in the delta of the Nile on Lake Albert’s northern bank.

You’ll have the opportunity to take memorable photos of animals in the wild as you will likely chance upon elephants, lions, buffaloes, giraffes, waterbuck, bushbuck, spotted hyenas, and on the rare occasion, leopards.

We will then drive back to your lodge for lunch.

In the afternoon, you’ll take a boat excursion along the Nile to the base of the magnificent Murchison Falls. You will take in an amazing concentration of wildlife at the river’s banks that include hippos, crocodiles, as well as a wide variety of bird species such as the African eagle, pelicans, the kingfisher, Egyptian geese, and many more!

Dinner and overnight stay at you preferred lodging.

Day 4

Murchison Falls National Park

After a cup of coffee, you depart for the Nile delta on a shared boat from Wild Frontiers and discover the birdlife and scenic views along the Nile. By luck, you may chance upon the shoebill in the swamps along the Nile. Moreover, this is a moment to discover the birdlife along this part of the Nile.

We return to the lodge for lunch in preparation for the afternoon game drive. During the game drive in the plains, we discover even more wild and birdlife. Among other animals you might see elephants, lions, buffalos, giraffes, waterbucks, bushbucks, spotted hyenas and, very rarely, leopards.

Later we return to the lodge for dinner and overnight at your preferred lodging option.

Day 5

Albertine Rift Valley & Fort Portal

We head out of the park after an early breakfast heading south-west along the Lake Albert and Rift Valley escarpments which feature breathtaking panoramic scenery.

We pass through Hoima the capital of the Bunyoro Kingdom after which we stop for a cup of coffee and lunch.

Afterward, we make for Fort Portal which happens to be the capital of the Tooro Kingdom and lies in the shadow of the Rwenzori Mountains, the largest mountain ranges in Africa.

Dinner and an overnight stay at one of the select lodging facilities.

Day 6

Kibale National Park – Chimpanzee Trekking & Bigodi

After breakfast, you go on a nature walk in Kibale Forest National Park and experience the tropical rainforest, birding and most especially, the chimpanzees in their natural environment. Other primates you might see include the black and white colobus, the red-tailed monkey and the vervet monkey.

After lunch, we visit the eco-tourist site of Bigodi for a village walk (you also have the opportunity to taste the Ugandan cuisine).

You may return at leisure to your lodge for dinner with overnight at your preferred lodging.

Day 7

Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, you'll transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The transfer will last about 3 hours and we arrive in time for lunch at your lodge.

After lunch, use the afternoon to take the most exciting safari by boat from Mweya peninsula along the Kazinga channel, one of the most popular sites in Uganda for its concentration of wildlife, bird life and opportunities for good photographs. Moreover, you will see plenty of hippos, buffaloes and elephants as they congregate to drink from the channel.

Later, you return and have dinner and overnight at your preferred lodging.

Day 8

Queen Elizabeth National Park – Ishasha Sector

You'll go on another game drive in the north of the park then leave the northern sector of Queen Elizabeth and proceed to the southern sector, Ishasha, a vast savannah between the rivers Ishasha and Ntungwe.

After lunch, take a game drive in search for the "tree climbing lions" which are seen during the hot hours of the day, as they lie resting atop of fig trees. You may also see herds of buffaloes, elephants, topi antelopes and more.

Dinner and overnight at Ishasha Jungle Lodge.

Day 9

Ishasha Sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park

After a cup of coffee, at 6.30 am go on a game drive along the tracks of the national park, in the Southern sector. You might see lions, elephants, buffaloes, spotted hyenas, waterbucks, Uganda kobs, and leopards perhaps, though they are shy and rarely spotted.

You have lunch at the lodge with more game drives planned for the afternoon.

Return at your leisure for dinner and overnight at Ishasha Jungle Lodge.

Day 10

Ishasha – Bwindi National Park

After breakfast, we leave Queen Elizabeth and head southward, where you find the rain tropical forests which are the natural habitat to the endangered mountain gorillas.

Lunch will be had en-route and we arrive Bwindi National Park by evening in time for dinner and overnight stay at your preferred lodging option.

Day 11

Mountain Gorilla Safari

We get into the rain forest in the morning for the gorilla safari, an activity that starts at about 8 am where you follow ranger guides in groups of up to 8 people as you search for habituated families of mountain gorillas. This should be in accordance with the allocated permits.

According to 2007 gorilla population surveys, Bwindi’s 370 gorillas account for about half of the world’s population of gorillas.

Upon coming across the habituated families of gorillas, you’ll have an hour to observe them and their mannerisms and take photographs. Ensure that you bring a packed lunch and water in a bag with you. This might require the assistance of porters who will be available.

Day 12

Batwa Trail Echuya Forest – Lake Bunyonyi

After breakfast, you may optionally enjoy a nature walk in Echuya Forest and encounter the Batwa pigmies and learn their history, traditions and culture.

Later, we drive to Lake Bunyonyi near Kabale in the Kigezi region. After lunch at the lodge, you have a wonderful experience of nature with a guided canoe excursion along the lake, for birding, exploration and visiting local places.

In the evening relax at the lodge and have dinner and overnight at your preferred lodging.

Day 13

Lake Bunyonyi – Lake Mburo National Park

After breakfast, transfer to Lake Mburo National Park, the smallest of Ugandan National Parks. You'll have your lunch en-route.

As you enter the park, we go on a game drive in search of the beautiful impalas, elands, topi and other antelopes, buffaloes, and
zebras.

Dinner and overnight at your preferred lodging.

Lake Mburo – Entebbe

After breakfast you may go on a game drive or optionally you can enjoy a nature walk.

After lunch en-route we proceed to Entebbe.
