Destination Jungle is a Destination Management Company (DMC), providing tour operations in Uganda and Rwanda.
Our history in few words: in operations since 2008; a sustainable tour operator in the way we look at tourism and activities, following the Travelife partnership; the Jungle Lodges as part of our investments in eco-lodges; an increasing team of sales consultants and especially more than 40 local tour guides, some of them specialized in international languages; a conservation and reforestation project in Bugoma Forest, where we made a dream a reality.

Our Lodges & Camps
Uganda Jungle Lodges is the investment branch of Destination Jungle in eco-lodges. Every visit to our lodges is an invitation to reconnect with nature, experience authentic culture and rediscover a slower, richer rhythm of life. Our locations are unique, off the beaten tracks. We blend the immersion into nature with the comfort of the stay, the local food experience and the encounter with communities. All of this we call it the “jungle style”.
Ishasha Jungle Lodge
In Queen Elizabeth Natioanl park - Ishasha Sector
Ishasha Jungle Lodge is a tourist accommodation in the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park. It is located in Kihihi subcounty, along Kameme road at the edge of the protected national park. The name is after the Ishasha plains and river Ishasha, which are a beautiful landscape of the Albertine Rift valley, a vast savannah habitat populated by wildlife, from the herds of topis and elephants to some prides of lions, well known as the tree climbing lions.
The lodge was open in 2014 to offer its jungle style to visitors.
Bugoma Jungle Lodge
In bugoma forest
Bugoma Jungle Lodge is the first tourism accommodation to be open in Bugoma Forest Reserve, Kikuube District in Uganda. The name is after this hidden and off the beaten tracks tropical forest reserve of Bugoma, which is the habitat of an incredible biodiversity, from the chimpanzees to the endemic Uganda mangabey. This location is the best stop over along the tourist route between Murchison Falls and Kibale National Parks.
The lodge was open in 2018.
Destination Jungle has a neutral carbon policy. The company operations’ carbon footprint is calculated every year and a corresponding investment is made in the reforestation project Every 5 Acres by Association for Conservation of Bugoma Forest.
It has the following objectives:
- Acquire 100 acres of land in the buffer zone of Bugoma Forest for reforestation of indigenous trees.
- Recreate the natural habitat for the chimpanzees and the Uganda mangabeys, endemic species of Bugoma Forest Reserve.
- Provide compensation for carbon emissions through the expansion of forested cover.
HOW CAN YOU CONTRIBUTE TO THE PROJECT EVERY 5 ACRES
Carbon footprint offset policy
Destination Jungle engages top adopt a “carbon neutral” policy, by calculating all the CO2 emissions done through the activitiesof our operations, reducing the emissions and compensating / offsetting the same with corresponding actions of carbonsequestration via acquisition of “carbon credits”.
Association for Conservation of Bugoma Forest - ACBF
The Association for Conservation of Bugoma Forest (ACBF) is an environmental membership association, not for profit, registered in 2016 in Uganda as a Community Based Organization in Kikuube District and as a no profit company by guarantee.
The idea to start this association originates from the first visit to Bugoma Forest by our director Costantino Tessarin, back in 2013. What attracted his attention was the presence of a big tropical forest reserve, unknown in the tourism sector, at the same time under threat of deforestation. The need to take action is the reason behind this decision.
