Day 1 – Kigali

On arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be welcomed by our representative and transferred to the hotel for overnight, The Heaven Boutique Hotel / Quiet Haven. BB

Day 2 – Kigali - Bukavu

After breakfast drive to the South Western side of Rwanda, on the shores of Lake Kivu. Lunch en route in a restaurant. Stop overs can be made in Butare and other panoramic sites. Arrive in the late afternoon to the border between Rwanda and Congo Democratic Republic near Cyangugu. You pass the border and have the dinner and overnight at Orchids Lodge.Full Board

Day 3 – Low land gorilla trekking in Kahuzi Biega National Park

After early breakfast, drive to Kahuzi Biega National Park for the Eastern Low land gorillas trekking. This park, about 600 sq km, is where the first gorilla tourism was started in the 70th. At the moment there are three habituated families of gorillas and the trekking is a real experience of a Congolese jungle. Bring with you the packed lunch from the hotel as well as be prepared with trekking gear. In the afternoon drive back to Bukavu and proceed to Rwanda, fir dinner and overnight atEmeraude Kivu Resort. Day 4 – Kigali

After breakfast you will drive back to Kigali. As you proceed, a stopover is made in Nyanza, that in the past was the political capital and it hosts the antique Royal palace, entirely renovated for the visitors, displaying original items and pieces of history of the Mwami, the king. Lunch en route. Arrive in Kigali for transfer to Kigali International Airport. Half Board

Sustainability Policies

We have a “water policy”: we don’t use plastic bottles, but cans of water to be refilled in the vehicles; please bring with you your bottle water.
Our tours are “carbon neutral”, whereby our carbon emissions are computed and compensated through the reforestation project Every 5 Acres.

We support Association for Conservation of Bugoma Forest (ACBF – bugomaconservation.org) for developing eco-tourism and income generating activities in remote communities in Uganda and for the conservation efforts to protect Bugoma Forest Reserve.
We promote local typical products of Uganda and avail them under the brand “Jungle Taste”.
We use and avail cotton bags during the tour to reduce and avoid use of plastic bags while shopping.
We select the best eco-lodges with whom we partner for a more sustainable approach.
