Day 1 - Arusha      

Bed and Breakfast

  • Upon arrival at Arusha Kilimanjaro International Airport our guide will welcome you to Tanzania and will transfer you to the hotel in Arusha for overnight stay at BB, Tumbili Lodge (E) or Gran Melia Arusha Hotel (C).


Day 2 – From Arusha to Lake Natron

Full Board.

  • After breakfast drive to Lake Natron, an alkaline lake found within the Lake Natron Basin. On the background of the Lake the Ol Doinyo Lengai which means ‘Mountain of God’ in Masaai language. This is an active volcano located in the Gregory Rift, south of Lake Natron. Part of the volcanic system of the Eastern Rift, it uniquely produces natrocarbonatite lava. At night the mountain shows a beautiful dark red color. At sunset you will take a guided walk to the lake flats.
  • Lunch en route.
  • Dinner overnight at Africa Safari Lake Natron (E) or Lake Natron Camp (C).


Day 3 – Lake Natron to Mto Wa Mbu

Full Board.

  • After breakfast depart to the market town of Mto Wa Mbu near Lake Manyara. A melting pot of cultures, Mto Wa Mbu is thought to be one of the only places in Tanzania where there are representatives from all 120 tribes living happily side by side. Although the name translates as ‘Mosquito River’, due to the permanent water source in the village, we fortunately didn’t see many mosquitoes. Your half-day tour includes an authentic farm walk tour through banana plantations and rice fields, a cooking class, trekking tour, visit the local market and learn how locals sell local crops. We may visit the village banana plantation, a youth art project and a workshop where we can watch the skilled Makonde tribe members carve intricate wood figures and masks.
  • After our walk through the village, we’ll have a delicious local Swahili meal which you can prepare together with the locals.  
  • We then head for a trekking tour, where we can get a great view of Lake Manyara.
  • Dinner and overnight at Pamoja Olea Lodge (E) or The Ngorongoro Retreat (C).


Day 4 – Serengeti National Park

Full Board.  

  • After breakfast, depart with picnic lunches and drive to central Serengeti with en route game drive. The Serengeti National Park is a large national park in northern Tanzania that stretches over 14,763 km². It is located entirely in eastern Mara Region and northeast portion of Simiyu Region and contains over 15,000,000 hectares of virgin savanna. The park was established in 1940. Enjoy game drive en route to the camp. A
  • Arrive for dinner and overnight at Angata Serengeti Camp (E) or Serengeti Acacia Bliss Camp (C).


Day 5 – Serengeti National Park

Full Board.

  • After breakfast at the camp, set off for an adventure enjoying an unforgettable day of game viewing in the premier national park of Tanzania. Here will hopefully seeing the Big Five of Africa as well as a dazzling assortment of other wildlife.
  • During the day, you pause for a picnic lunch in the African wilderness.
  • After a remarkable day, you will proceed to the camp for dinner and overnight at Angata Serengeti Camp (E) or Serengeti Acacia Bliss Camp (C).


Day 6 – Ngorongoro Crater tour

Full Board.

  • After breakfast, you will leave the park in the direction of Ngorongoro. Descend into the caldera of the Ngorongoro crater for an extraordinary experience of wild nature. The Ngorongoro conservation area covers an area of 8,292 square kilometers and has an altitude ranging between 1.020 and 3.587 meters. The crater itself is only a part of this extension; the caldera covers 304 square kilometers with a width of 19.2 kilometers and a depth of about 610 meters. The constant presence of water inside the crater allows life to a vast amount of animals. Among the others we find gnù, zebras, impalas, dikdik antipars, elephants and buffaloes. Large predators are also easily observable, including large families of lions, cheetah, spotted hyena, leopard.
  • Lunch provided in the Ngorongoro.
  • Dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Wild Camp (E) or Ngorongoro Lions Paw’s (C)


Day 7 – Lake Eyasi

Full Board.

  • After breakfast, at 8 depart to Lake Eyasi. This remote area of the rift valley is home to the Datoga tribe. With the support of a local Datoga guide, we will organize a cultural encounter with the people, to see their houses and traditions. We will also observe the fabrication of the typical metal work for the tribal decorations.
  • Lunch at a restaurant.
  • In the afternoon spend at leisure and enjoy the landscapes of Lake Eyasi.
  • Dinner and overnight at Lake Eyasi Safari Lodge (E) or Kisima Ngeda Camp (C).


Day 8 – Lake Eyasi to Lake Manyara National Park

Full Board.

  • After breakfast we organize a cultural activity, going hunting with the Hadzabe, Tanzania’s last hunter-gatherers’ tribe. You will learn their traditions and the way to prepare and shoot the bow and arrow. The journey proceeds to Lake Manyara National Park.
  • Pic nic lunch en route.
  • Afternoon safari in Lake Manyara.
  • Dinner and overnight at Heart and Soul Lodge Manyara (E) or Manyara Best View Lodge (C).


Day 9 – Tarangire National Park

Full Board.

  • After breakfast, the journey proceeds to Tarangire National park. The park is home to more elephants per square kilometer than anywhere else in the world. It covers 2.850 sq kilometers and its ecosystem is based on the Tarangire river and large swamps characterized by undulating plains dotted with baobab and acacia trees. These provide water reserves all year round and therefore animals are abundant also during the dry season generally from July to November. The concentration of wildlife is the largest outside the Serengeti system and includes the migratory wildebeests, zebras, buffaloes, impalas, elands, as well as the orix and gerenuk, only found in this area.
  • Pic nic lunch boxes for the day.
  • Game drives in the Tarangire National Park.
  • Dinner and overnight at Angata Tarangire Camp (E) or Tarangire Ndovu Tented Camp (C).


Day 10 – Tarangire – Arusha

Bed and Breakfast

  • After breakfast, last game drive in Tarangire. Return to Arusha and transfer to airport for your next destination. BB

Sustainability Policies

  • We have a “water policy”: we don’t use plastic bottles, but cans of water to be refilled in the vehicles; please bring with you your bottle water.
  • Our tours are “carbon neutral”, whereby our carbon emissions are computed and compensated through the reforestation project Every 5 Acres.
  • Travelers can “plant a tree” in the reforestation project “One traveler, one tree, one forest” with KAFRED.
  • We support Association for Conservation of Bugoma Forest (ACBF – bugomaconservation.org) for developing eco-tourism and income generating activities in remote communities in Uganda and for the conservation efforts to protect Bugoma Forest Reserve.
  • We promote local typical products of Uganda and avail them under the brand “Jungle Taste”.
  • We use and avail cotton bags during the tour to reduce and avoid use of plastic bags while shopping.
  • We select the best eco-lodges with whom we partner for a more sustainable approach.
