Other mammals include giraffes, zebras, elands, impalas, lions, leopards, cheetahs, bat-eared foxes, jackals, and wild dogs. The great Ruaha River and other rivers such as the Mzombe are considered the park's lifeblood because, during the dry season, they become the only source of water for wildlife and habitat for crocodiles, hippos, and fish.
